While living in Chicago, I met a lot of local riders through social networking sites like Team Sally and Chicago Freeride. When I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2006, I realized G.R. needed a similar site to help build community among local riders. Within days, GeeRide.net was born. GeeRide has grown faster than anyone could imagine, and has since become influential in freeride advocacy and trail building in West Michigan. The Michigan Mountain Bike Association has now established a Freeride Committee for the Western Chapter, and GeeRide.net is the official online forum for organizing rides, trail building and relationship efforts.
While this site has been extremely useful for building the community, it is currently undergoing a full redesign to be more functional, usable and visually engaging. Check back soon for an update.
